In our previous post entitled "Genesis Brand Takes on Luxury Convention with New Prototype," we had the pleasure of introducing you to Hyundai's luxury brand. As of late, we have learned that the name plate isn't stopping at luxury, it also plans to enter the plug-in hybrid market.

In your estimation, what qualities comprise a solid, full-size luxury sedan?

Well, regardless of your response, it's likely that ours -- the 2016 Hyundai Genesis -- has them all. As you'll soon learn, this is one daily driver that leaves very little to be desired.

2016 has been a great year so far for Hyundai. The South Korean automaker introduced its 2017 Ioniq lineup, which includes a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and a pure electric option. The family of green cars are unique to the industry as all three variants' powertrains will operate on the same platform.

It seems that the hype train doesn't stop when it comes to Hyundai's new Genesis luxury nameplate. Launched in December, and backed up by the G90 shortly thereafter, it's clear that this branch is taking aim at some of the luxury segment's most prominent models. That became clearer than ever at this year's New York Auto Show.
