In our previous post entitled "Genesis Brand Takes on Luxury Convention with New Prototype," we had the pleasure of introducing you to Hyundai's luxury brand. As of late, we have learned that the name plate isn't stopping at luxury, it also plans to enter the plug-in hybrid market.

"Hyundai's Genesis luxury brand is barely off the ground but already it plans to enter the plug-in hybrid market, a move that echoes the alternative-fuel strategies of BMW and Mercedes-Benz," reports Automotive News. "The Hyundai and Genesis brands are working on multiple plug-in hybrids that will be an intermediate step before hydrogen fuel cell vehicles take hold in the coming decades, Dave Zuchowski, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, said in an interview."

Unfortunately, we don't have information on availability, pricing, or which models will get outfitted with a plug-in. In the meantime, come test drive our available Hyundai Genesis models.
