If you're planning a road trip to visit family for the holidays, we here at Elgin Hyundai wish to offer a few tips to help ensure your safe journey.
- If at all possible, try to plan your traveling time during less busy periods, leaving early in the morning, or a day early, for example.
- Think ahead. Plan your route to avoid the heaviest traffic areas, such as those near shopping malls, airports, etc.
- Allow extra time so you won't feel rushed.
- Bring books, portable DVD players, snacks, etc. in case you get stuck in traffic, especially if traveling with kids.
- Have tools and a backup plan in case of a breakdown.
- Stop by Elgin Hyundai for a service check before you go.
- You don't want a dead battery in your phone if you have an emergency, so don't forget your phone charger and be sure to take plenty of breaks.
- Don't drive if you're sleepy. Sometimes, just a 15 minute nap is all you need.
Elgin Hyundai is more than happy to help you if you need more travel tips.
