Trim Levels
There are three models to choose from on the upcoming Hyundai IONIQ:
IONIQ Electric—this configuration can be charged from home or work
IONIQ Hybrid—electric power lets you make the most out of fuel
IONIQ Plug-In (this model will be available next summer) – choose which mode you want to drive in: gas or electric.
Design
The 2017 IONIQ aims for sporty looks to match its powertrain. Its coupe configuration gives it fluidity to break through the wind. The LED daytime running lights and LED tail lights pronounce the agile design of the IONIQ while also providing increased visibility. The exterior is made of a high strength steel for protection, but it’s also cleverly lightweight for aerodynamic prowess. The IONIQ stands on 15-inch wheels that are made of an eco-friendly alloy, but you can upgrade to 17-inch wheels as well.
Interior
The interior has soft-touch materials that are made from sugar cane, and approximately 25% of the door trim panels have this material. The plastics in the cabin are made up of powdered wood and volcanic stone, which reduces the weight of the materials up to 20%. Switching up the plastic blend makes for a lightweight vehicle, and also contributes to smart and efficient car building.
