As many already know, the automotive industry is delightfully filled with a variety of accolades. In addition to an array of coveted top ten lists, there are also awards that are handed out to highlight a vehicle's efficiency, safety merits or design.

Today, it's the latter that we at Elgin Hyundai would like to discuss. You see, a collaboration that exists between The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, has been giving out GOOD DESIGN awards for 64 years.

In the transportation category, 2013's winner is the Hyundai Santa Fe. Selected by a group of architectural experts, the South Korean automaker's crossover was elected due to its progressive design and alluring bodylines.

Speaking to the recent accolade, the Chief Designer at Hyundai Design Center, Chris Chapman, explains that, "With the 2013 Santa Fe, we wanted the vehicle to be a functional, mobile sculpture and receiving the 2013 GOOD DESIGN Award for transportation acknowledges this design achievement."1

Of course, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is more than just a sophisticated and award-winning design. With that said, if you'd like to discover the other attributes that the popular crossover possesses, then we invite you to stop by our showroom and auto service center in Elgin, IL. At your leisure our team is happy to detail vehicle specs and arrange test drives.

Furthermore, if you'd like to stay informed on all-things relating to our mutually preferred automaker, including awards and forthcoming Hyundai models, we kindly urge you to follow our blog.
