Fuel Economy

Between the Hyundai Accent vs. Nissan Versa, the Hyundai Accent is the better buy. The base Hyundai Accent has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28 city mpg and 37 highway mpg, while the equivalent Nissan Versa falls short with 27 city mpg and 36 highway mpg. Those extra miles really add up over a year of fuel-ups!

The Hyundai Accent specs are more impressive than the mild-mannered Nissan Versa. The Hyundai Accent has a 1.6L 4-cylinder that produces a total of 130 hp and 119 lb-ft of torque. The Nissan Versa sedan may have a 1.6L 4-cylinder of its own, but its output is far less powerful with only 109-hp and 107 lb-ft of torque.

Before you get your heart set on a brand new car, be sure to check the warranty! A great warranty plan can protect your investment from both minor and major mishaps on the road, and Hyundai's plan is far better than Nissan's.
  • The Accent includes a 5-year or 60,000-mile basic warranty, while the Versa only has a 3-year or 36,000-mile plan.
  • The Accent offers twice the powertrain coverage of the Versa. You'll get a full decade of coverage from Hyundai and only 5 years from Nissan.
  • The Accent has two extra years of corrosion coverage over the Versa.
